ND events for the week

Each year before Christmas Tito Garcia travels back to Mexico to spend the holidays with family and friends. He takes along gently used clothing, shoes, and toys to give to the kids in town. Without Tito's generosity, these kids would not receive Christmas presents. His neighbor has asked that Notre Dame Elementary School help Tito with donations this year. Please drop any donations in one of two boxes located in the Elementary School entryway.

Calling all donors! Please help us fill our last remaining spots at tomorrow's blood drive!

Grades 4 and 5 toured the Murray Art Gallery at SCC on Thursday, Sept. 18. En plein air paintings of Burlington, from a contest sponsored by art319, a non-profit, captured our attention. The paintings (water colors, oil and acrylic paintings and a few drawings) are for sale. Students looked at all 50 artworks, wondering which view of Burlington would they choose to remember their hometown (or school town) by, and why? This exhibit continues, M-F, 8-5pm, next week only (ends Sept. 26). Students sketched their favorite and listened to the curator, Ms. Smeltser, detail the contest. 15 midwest artists competed, including a teenager and an octogenarian!
