Access Energy Cooperative has announced the area high school students recently named as recipients of the 2023 Access Energy Cooperative scholarships program.

Each of the following students will receive a $1,500 award:

• Abby Korschgen of Burlington;
• Alexa Dingman of Saint Paul;
• Danielle Muhs of Mount Pleasant;
• Grant Lilley of Stockport;
• Makayla Morrison of Donnellson; and
• Shelby Baldosier of Brighton.

Access Energy Cooperative is a rural distribution electric cooperative, providing power to over 9,000 homes, farms, businesses, and industries in 10 southeast Iowa counties.

Access Energy Cooperative awards six $1500 scholarships each year, two in each of its three districts.

The parents or guardians of the applicant must be members of Access Energy Cooperative.

Winners are chosen based on academics, achievements, community involvement, and a submitted application with a few electric industry-related questions.

Abby Korschgen, daughter of John and Kim Korschgen, will be attending the University of Missouri-Columbia, to attain a degree in Business.

Alexa Dingman, daughter of John and Tracy Dingman, will be attending the University of Iowa.

Danielle Muhs, daughter of David Muhs, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, to study Music along with a STEM major.

Grant Lilley, son of Brooke Lilley and Clayton Lilley, plans to attend Iowa State University to pursue a career in Engineering.

Makayla Morrison, daughter of Matt and Bridget Morrison, plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa to pursue a career in Elementary Education.

Shelby Baldosier, daughter of Brian Baldosier and Denise Baldosier, plans to attend Mesalands Community College in New Mexico to study Farrier Science
